Phoenixx International, L.P. was established in November of 1990. Phoenixx is engaged in marketing and supplying non-ferrous metals (LME based), minor metals, and chemical grade commodities to the United States Metal Consuming Industry. In this capacity, Phoenixx is both exclusive representatives for major metal producers, and maintain principal inventory, as well.

In 18 years, Phoenixx has elevated itself to be recognized as a highly reliable metal supplier throughout the United States, and one of International integrity. Phoenixx strives to maintain the demanding needs of its customers by offering quality products, timely delivery and competitive pricing. The copper, nickel, tin and zinc metals are priced and hedged using the London Metal Exchange (LME), which allows our customer to fix price forward basis current market prices. The by-product of our method of pricing places us in the position to offer “objective” opinions on market direction to our customers.

Paul Helsel, Partner and Founder

Paul founded Phoenixx International in November of 1990 with an original focus of supplying metal to the United States Customer base he acquired while working with Phillip Brothers. Before Joining Phillip Brothers in 1974, Paul worked at PNC Bank where he was a Vice President and Regional Manager. Paul has also served on the Defense Logistics Agency’s National Stockpile Advisory Committee.

Brian P. Helsel, Partner

Brian joined Phoenixx International in 1997 after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in History and economics. He began his trading career in the traffic dept, and is now responsible for all of the LME hedging, as well as trading all of the metal in the Phoenixx portfolio. Brian is now the President of the company and will be responsible for the future expansion of Phoenixx.

Matt Liebert, Logistics Coordinator

Matt joined Phoenixx International in May of 2005 as the logistics coordinator. Graduating from the Pennsylvania State University in 2002, he received a bachelor’s degree in business logistics. While attending the university, Matt was a member of the Varsity football team. Prior to Phoenixx, he worked over two years as an Operations Supervisor for Martin Brower, a McDonald’s Corporation distributor.

Lisa Blazer, Finance Manager

Lisa comes to Phoenixx International with 15 years of banking experience. Lisa worked at both PNC Bank and Mellon Bank. She joined PNC in 1997 in Treasury Management Sales. She held positions in various Treasury Management Departments including Information Services Training and Quality Assurance/ Data Warehousing Management. In 1999, she was promoted to a Treasury Management Product Manager and was later promoted to a Vice President in Risk Management. She graduated from Duquesne University in 1990 with a BSBA in Finance. Lisa is currently managing the financial position of the company and coordinating the logistics for several shipments.

Meg Helsel, Special Projects

Meg joined Phoenixx in 2006 as Special Projects Manager. She graduated from Bucknell in 1998 with a degree in Business Administration. She worked at Anderson Consulting (now Accenture) before returning to Pittsburgh to work at PNC. She spent 7 years at PNC in various roles including Internet Banking Product Management and Treasury Management Sales.

Linda Huth, Administrative Assistant

Linda Huth has held various administrative positions beginning in 1994 working in the billing and rating department at Freeport Transport Industries and later with Hanson Aggregate’s Asphalt Division. In 2002, she began working in the operations, finance and payroll departments at Webmedx, a medical transcription/technology company.
